On the way south we made the detour to Onslow.
The road to Onslow was full of spinifex termite mounds which are much larger than others in WA and almost lifelike in shape.
We dubbed this one "the lovers".
This shot was taken at a rest area, illustrating the differences in vehicles we meet on the road. The one on the left is a large motor home towing a small car and the one on the right is a car towing a small A-frame caravan.
Rocky Pool, 45 km out of Carnarvon where we camped 12 years ago. Now it is part of the Carnarvon water catchment area and no camping is allowed so we went out just for the day.
We moved out chairs into the shade under a tree on the edge of the water and read for a while.
A galah's nest in the tree above us at Wooramel Station.
