Great rivers in Queensland

This is a photo of the mouth of the Daintree River. The Daintree is World Heritage Listed but as a non-tree hugger, I (Nikki) am not so enthralled by plants, even if they are a rainforest. We did go to the Discovery Centre in the Daintree which was informative and beautiful. We learned two interesting things. 1. That all vines twist in an anti-cloclwise direction both in the northern and also the southern hemisphere - scientists are still trying to find out why. 2. All kangaroos move only by simultaneously moving both feet.

This is another shot of the Daintree River, or a small channel of it. We went on a cruise on the river. The Daintree River river is actually a very wide but reasonably shallow river.

This is the Bloomfield River on the way to Cooktown.
