Wildlife strikes again

We have seen a number of examples of fauna, both tame and wild, in the last few days of our travels.

Wzo the Major Mitchell parrot who was travelling with his owner and staying at the Quobba Blowholes.

Wzo is 24 years old.  Quite young for this type of bird - they can live up to a 100 years.

This pelican was calmly grooming itself at Coral Bay among the crowd of people on the beach.

Emmet the emu at Bullara Station where we are currently staying.

Maggie is the resident kangaroo at Bullara.  She was reared by one of the camp hosts since a young joey.  She now has a joey of her own in the pouch, her first in three years.

The admiring youngsters were feeding her carrots until she had enough and refused the last one offered to her.

Here she is with her joey quite visible
